Vernham Dean, nestling in the outstandingly beautiful and peaceful Bourne valley is everybody's favourite off road venue, deep in the Test Valley countryside. This perfect Event HQ location in the heart of the village gives access in every direction to countless quiet lanes, tracks and bridleways just waiting to be ridden and our routes will be designed to take in the very best of these, accessing stunning scenery and views whichever route you choose. The trails are mainly ancient cart tracks of free draining gravel and stone with some grassy areas. We always include the memorable section of swooping twisty singletrack through the beech woods.

Take the 50km route for a great day of mixed riding or the easier 30km which still includes the woods section or combine the two and go for the full 80km, which gives you a chance to enjoy a fresh selection of trails and the opportunity to crack the woods section for a second time. You can decide during your ride exactly which route you want to follow, and then let us know at the end which one you chose.

Route maps and elevation profiles will be published on the website in the week preceding the event. This allows for any last minute changes to be made to the route due to weather, access, road closures etc.

Professional photographer Joolze Dymond will be out in the woods to capture you in glorious digital high resolution. So style it up, throw some shapes, or even gracefully fall off in front of her!! Joolze's photos will then be available to view online a couple of days later - you can purchase your favourite image as digital or hardcopy prints, mugs, or even mouse mats.

ENTRY ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT

Entry on the day at Event Registration is always available, but incurs a £3 late registration surcharge.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO FULLY ENJOY THIS EVENT

• A mountain bike in good working condition with off road tyres
• A helmet and gloves
• Clothing suitable for both the event and the weather conditions (for safety reasons we will check)
• A puncture repair kit/inner tubes and a tyre pump
• Tools and a First Aid kit
• Snacks plus a water bottle or a hydration system
• A mobile phone and some loose change
